How to Open Internet Explorer and download Microsoft Silverlight

Microsoft Silverlight, the website app that the gaugeART Video Gauge Adapter uses, was deprecated by Microsoft in 2021. Microsoft Silverlight is no longer supported by current internet browsers (Internet Explorer is the only known browser that is compatible). The gaugeART Video Gauge Adapter was discontinued in 2022. Please note that this website will be discontinued on July 2027. All designs as .RRD files should be saved prior to this date.

A workaround is required to use Internet Explorer.

STEP 1: Download & install Microsoft Silverlight (click here to download).
STEP 2: 

1. Click the Windows icon and type in “iexplore”.
2. Select Internet Explorer (not Microsoft Edge).
   
3. If Microsoft Edge browser opens instead, do this within Microsoft Edge:
   1. Click the icon with the three dots. Then, click Settings.
      
   2. Click Default Browser on left.
      
   3. Set the drop down for Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode to “Allow”.
   4. Click “Add a page” and add the site “http://www.gaugedesigner.com” and “http://www.gaugedesigner.com”. The result is shown below:
      
   5. Restart your computer.
   6. Open Internet Explorer according to step 1.
   7. Browse to www.gaugeDesigner.com in Internet Explorer, and select your ECU. Follow the instructions here for using gaugeDesigner.
